“We were three old friends from school with a simple objective for our trip. We wanted to eat the best of what Spain had to offer over the course of a three-week road trip.

It was somewhere on the north coast in Galicia where I had the best fish of my life…no Michelin stars necessary. The best sip of the trip was definitely in the Catalonian wine region of Priorat. I could’ve easily spent the three weeks just sampling wine but my travel companions knew better.

On the other side of the country, close to Portugal, we had jamon iberico so rich and delicious that I was overwhelmed with emotion. I was thrilled to taste such a delicacy, and at the same time saddened by the fact that it’s not possible to find it in the US. Then again, this is why we travel.

We finished our food journey in Madrid where we were treated to the best tapas and ambiance one could ask for. Viva Espana!”
